Ballot Counters

[Chief Judge verifies that renaming is correct.]

The Chief Judge will give an orientation before the meeting at {Give the time}

Please ask questions at the briefing to make sure you understand the process.

Print off TWO ballot counting forms. If you can not, use a blank piece of paper, or Excel. Whichever way you decide to do it, please PREPARE your counting sheet before the contest and complete it DURING the contest. Enter the equivalent information, Including:

Instead of collecting up ballots around the room, Chief Judge and Ballot Counters will go into a break out room.

In the room, one by one the judges will enter, type their votes into the chat box and leave.

Look at the chat box and write down votes accordingly.

To tally the results:  1st place gets THREE points.  2nd place gets TWO points.  3rd place gets ONE point.

When asked, you will tell each speakers score in the following form: Billy Bob thornton gets Three points.  Joe Demagio gets two points.  Emma Thompson gets one point.

The judge will repeat your report to assure that it is correct.

When the report is validated, the judge will leave the room before the next judge comes into the room.

Next judge comes into the room, we do the process again.

Please note that the tie Breaker judge is last.  By the rules the Chief Judge must get the Tie Breakers vote in order to place ALL  contestants.

If anybody gets any judge's report by accident, DO NOT score it and pretend you never saw it.

While tie-breaker is communicating with the chief judge, ballot counters will be tallying the votes.

The ballot counter will report to the Chief Judge "No ties" OR "there is tie."

That’s when the chief judge will use the tie breaking judges information.

The chief judge will then type out the list of placement in chat box for Ballot counters review.

Each ballot counter must indicate corrections or concurrence.
